Newborough beach on Anglesey, North Wales, is a huge expanse of sand and is a great place for moody sunset photos if you time the tide right.
However, for this photo, sunset was many hours away as I was walking along the beach towards Llandwyn Island. I turned round to check the view and saw this amazing sky, with clouds boiling up over Snowdonia to the west.
The beach itself would have made quite a boring subject for a photo if it wasn't for the clouds and the patches of light randomly scattered across the sand.
As it is, the beach makes a very suitable bottom border for a composition that definately is all about the sky, with a couple of random figures in the distance giving an idea of the scale of the beach and clouds.
A good sky is something that always gets me excited when I'm out photographing, and this was well up there with the best of them!
