This is the abandoned and derelict brickworks at Porth Wen on the north coast of Angelsey, North Wales.
Set in an extemely beautiful bay, with a sea arch, cliffs and wild flowers galore, this is, at first glance, a strange place to find an abandoned brickworks.
Operating from 1850 to 1914, the bricks were made from local clay taken from the hills above, and the finished bricks were shipped out by sea, so perhaps it made sense after all.
Now the brickworks are a photographer's delight, offering a stark counterpoint between the enduring nature and beauty of God's creation and the temporary and decaying nature of mans' efforts.
