The West Shore at Llandudno on the North Wales coast boasts some quite pretty sand dunes, which get quite a battering from the prevailing winds in the area.
To try and prevent the sand from disappearing a series of anti-erosion fences have been installed at strategic locations, made from highly photogenic wooden slats.
From a photographers point of view I really appreciate these pieces of beach architecture as they can act as wonderfully interesting leading lines, and also they catch the low angled evening sun in a very warm and friendly way.
This particular fence was pointing directly at the Great Orme, so including it in the composition was a no-brainer really.
These fences may be highly effective photographic aids, but I doubt they do much good in holding back the migration of the sand. Time will tell.
