With a high tidal range and relatively flat beaches, the North Wales coast is a great place to visit as the tide is receding, leaving large pools of calm, reflective water behind.
I found this tidal pool at Llandudno's West Shore, with the setting sun picking out details and bathing Conway mountain in warm evening light which was then perfectly reflected in the still water.
Sand ripples were also picked out very nicely in the low-angled light, so I used them in the foreground to lead the viewer's eye through the scene to the mountains beyond.
I used a 2 stop ND graduated filter to balance the exposure between the sky and the reflection, otherwise the overall lovely tonality of the scene would have been lost.
