The East Shore of Llandudno takes the form of a bay, approximately one and a half miles long, bounded at both ends by rock outcroppings called the Great Orme and the Little Orme.
This photo was taken one lovely sunny day on the shingle beach looking east towards the Little Orme.
Normally I don't photograph landscapes once the sun is high in the sky, but on this occasion the bright light on the waves gave a striking contrast with the pebbles on the foreshore, and I spent a happy half hour taking pictures at the same spot, only moving when waves threatened to engulf me, which they did from time to time as I stared throught the viewfinder oblivious to what was coming my way!
What I was after was the best possible wave pattern to lead the eye through the scene to the Little Orme which was the focal point of this particular composition.
Of all the photos I took, this is one of those that best express that freshness and exhilaration that being close (too close sometimes) to the sea brings.
