The woodland path surrounding Llyn Crafnant in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales is a sheer delight to walk around and admire the scenery.
The views out over the lake and surrounding mountains are stunning, and make for great photography in the right light.
But when the sky is overcast and the light is flat grey then my photographic attention turns downwards to take in the details along the side of the path, which look and photograph much better under subdued lighting.
Autumn is a great time of year for this type of photography, with the greens, golds, russetts and reds all combining in a kaleidoscope of warm colours.
This vivid display of red berries grabbed my attention and I eagerly filled my viewfinder with the densest patch of colour.
The flat lighting helped very much here, allowing me to photograph the berries at a reasonable exposure without the red channel on my camera's sensor array blowing out and spoiling the colour.
