Dripping with colour in late spring, the National Trust owned Bodnant Gardens, near Conway in North Wales is a sensory delight and, of course, full of photographic potential.
What I particularly like about Bodnant is the sympathetic way the buildings and gardens are arranged to visually compliment each other, with neither jarring against the other.
So I came away from Liz and my visit one glorious Saturday afternoon in a state of sensory overload, just overwhelmed by the sights and smells we'd enjoyed for a few hours.
Photographically speaking, the mid afternoon sun wasn't the kindest sort of light that would bring out the best images.
With high contrast and bleached clours, I had to make extensive use of my polarising filter, coupled with negative exposure compensation and the judicious use of shade in order to capture the scenes in a way that matched how they actually looked to my eyes.
Try and make a visit for yourselves if you can - it's well worth the entrance fee!
