This steely blue industrial scene is the view along the estuary of the river Dee, at Deeside, North Wales, taken from Dock Road at Connah's Quay.
Visual highlights are the gas fired power station and the QE2 suspension bridge, just starting to glow in the twilight from the recently set sun.
I took this photo as part of the set that I used to make my huge panoramic image featured earlier on this page, and on further review I thought that this one exposure could very well stand alone as an evocative image, once I'd cropped a large amount of featureless water from the bottom of the frame that is.
Once I'd made the crop the image really came alive, with the steely blue twilight giving a suitable 'industrial' feel to the final image.
