The story behind this image

This wintry scene was photographed at Loggerheads country park, near where I live in North Wales.

I really like photographing snow scenes at night (or dusk in this case) as the snow takes on a wonderful blue tone as it reflects the colour of the sky. This then contrasts with the warm tones of the sky at the horizon, and any artificial lights in the scene glow with an extra warmth that's very striking.

This particular scene is taken from a limestone escarpment, overlooking the cafe and visitor centre which, thanks to the colour temperature contrast, looks very warm and welcoming.

Time to go down for a cup of coffee I think!
