A wonderfully evocative gloomy grey dusk at the Victoria Dock on Caernarfon's newly developed waterfront gave me an ideal opportunity to use my Lee Filters 'Little Stopper' 6 stop neutral density filter.
I'm loving the change in mood that using really long shutter speeds brings about - a certain melancholy that frozen water movement and reflections just doesn't give to the same degree.
Obviously, the long shutter speed approach doesn't suit every subject, but when conditions are right the juxtaposition of blurred water and clouds together with static subjects (buildings, rocks and so on) really works well.
