Every year in late spring Llandudno hosts a Victorian extravaganza, part of which is an old fashioned street fair.
The event is very popular, and trying to park during the day is a nightmare, so my wife Liz and I decided to visit right at the end of the day, hoping that quite a few of the day trippers would have already left.
In the end we managed to park halfway along the promenade and spent a happy hour or so wandering around looking at the sights.
I was drawn to this antique carousel, complete with brightly painted horses and hurdy-gurdy organ, and shot several still photos and a few seconds of video as the platform was going round.
This was my favourite of the still photos, with the horses perfectly positioned in the frame and the colours leaping out at you.
When I was a young child I remember being very frightened of the carousel horses, and even today they strike me as having a slightly sinister look to them.
Odd how certain things make us feel, even though it's completely irrational.
