A lovely spring day in early April 2017 and my wife Liz and I had spent most of the day exploring and hiking in the wonderful Snowdonia National Park, near our home in North Wales.
As the day drew to a close, we decided to head to the coast at Caernarfon for a bite to eat and to catch the sunset over the magnificent castle, situated right on the coast and fronted by a small natural harbour.
Well, I'm afraid eating had to wait as conditions at the castle were just perfect for a photographic session.
As darkness fell the castle walls were bathed with soft warm artificial lights, while the high tide, combined with absolutely still conditions, made for a perfect reflection of the castle walls and turrets in the harbour waters, punctuated by the flotilla of small boats moored therein.
This particular image was captured after I'd taken several hundred frames during that evening to make my time lapse video of the castle through sunset and on into dusk.
Conditions like this don't come around every day, and I'm very glad we made the decision to head to the coast that particular evening!
