Shot at the same time as 'castle-caernarfon-reflection-01'. This image shows the whole of the front of the old walled town reflecting in the calm water of the Menai Straits at dusk.
What makes this photo come alive for me is the cloud patterns which frame the town top and bottom.
After the sun has gone down the clouds and sky turn increasingly blue as the colour temperature of the ambient light increases. This then gives a complimentary colour contrast to the artificially lit buildings which makes them appear warm and inviting.
I will always try and photograph lit buildings at twilight rather than during the day for this reason, and you can see from other examples on this website that this is a theme in my work.
