For photographers and geologists there can be no better place than the beautiful and geologically varied Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast.
One of my favourite spots is the northwest coast in and around Church Bay, where the golden sands are littered with a variety of multi-hued rocks.
The best time to visit this west facing coastline is just before sunset, when the warm, low angled rays of light set the golden cliffs on fire and pick out all the lovely details in the beach and rocks.
My eye was drawn to this particular rock, embedded in the pebbles just at the foot of the cliff at Church Bay, thanks to its cracks and texture, which complimented the flaws in the face of the clif behind, while contrasting with the surrounding smooth round pebbles.
