Wandering round Evreux cathedral, Normandy on a rainy afternoon, Liz and I came across this atmospherically lit nave, complete with wonderful statues and ceiling architecture just begging to be photographed.
It's situations like this where I wish I'd had my tripod with me (thanks Ryanair!), as light levels were really low.
A tilt/shift lens would have been handy for those pesky converging verticals as well!
Oh well, being a pragmatist at heart I wasn't going to let the photo opportunity slip by for want of kit, so with the help of lens stabilisation, high ISO and PhotoShop I managed to make this image, which the conversion to monochrome really helped in bringing out the sombre mood in the cathedral.
