First light.
This view of the Great Orme at Llandudno on the North Wales coast was photographed at sunrise from just below the pier on the East Shore at high tide, in beautiful light.
Both ends of the day are special times for photographers and lovers of light in general, but at Llandudno, where both sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed, my favourite time is always sunrise. This isn't because the light is any better at sunrise than at sunset, but simply the fact that at 5am on a summer's morning, there's no-one else around and I have time to think and pray and photograph without distractions - precious in this day and age!
