Ever get bored of looking at and photographing the same old scene over and over again?
Try doing what I did one afternoon in my old haunt of Llandudno, on the North Wales coast, and instead of concentrating primarily on the landscape I looked up to see what was happening in the sky overhead.
The sky is a constantly changing tapestry of shape and form, shadow and highlight, smooth and rough texture.
If you look up for long enough you start to see compositions of cloud and sky that otherwise would have passed you by.
Of course, it helps to live in an active weather zone, which the North Wales coast certainly is, as the sky can change completely in the space of a few minutes.
Indeed, a few minutes after taking this photo Liz and I had to scramble back to the car as a passing hailstorm caught us unawares.
We should know better by now!
