The story behind this image

The Clwydian range of hills in North East Wales may not be the highest mountains in the world but they certainly are very pretty, especially in the right light just either side of sunrise or sunset.

On this particular occasion I was returning down the path from the summit of Moel Famau to the Pen Barras car park, having watched the sunset just a few minutes previously.

The clouds to the west were pinking up nicely, catching the rays of the sun from beyond the horizon, whilst in-between the folds of the hills the early evening mist was starting to form.

Everything around me was quiet, with the world holding its breath at the juncture between day and night.

I just had to stop and drink in the peace and quiet.

Taking a photo seemed an almost irreverent act at a time like this, but I'm glad I did as every time I look at this image I'm reminded of that wonderful evening in God's presence alone on the mountain.
