The seaside town of Llandudno, on the North Wales coast, is built on a peninsula that sticks out into Colwyn Bay.
This gives it a unique quality in that it has two shores, an East Shore which is the popular resort side of town, and a West Shore which is much quieter.
This is great from a photographer's point of view, in that you can catch a beautiful sunrise on the East Shore, and by driving only half a mile or so you can catch the sunset later on at the West Shore.
This is what I did for this image, taken in the evening while standing on Llandudno's West Shore with the sun just setting out of the frame to the right.
There's a large expanse of flat sand on the West Shore, and when the tide's in with calm weather the shallow water acts as a giant mirror reflecting the sky and the distant headland at Penmaenmawr.
On this particular evening the sky was amazing, with heavy storm clouds and a rain squall out to sea just catching the light of the setting sun.
Isn't North Wales brilliant!
