Walking along the recently refurbished promenade at Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast, one's eye is inevitably drawn to the two vertical wind turbines outside the Porth Eirias watersports centre.
Shining like beacons in the crisp December sunlight, set against the rich blue background of the almost cloudless sky, I just couldn't resist a photograph or two of these unusual structures.
Elegant and practical at the same time, and well worth a second glance.
