Widemouth Bay on the Atlantic coast of North Cornwall is a popular surfing beach, but I was keeping well away from the water and wind whipped spray, perched high on a clifftop as I captured hundreds of still images in order to create my Widemouth Bay Timelapse #1 video.
My wife Liz and I had spent a couple of hours walking the cliffs and foreshore along this amazing stretch of coast, and we'd just got back to our lofty car park and viewpoint in time to catch the sunset out over the far horizon.
So I spent the next half hour or so hunched over my tripod in the stiff onshore breeze watching and filming as clouds raced by, the sun set and the rich colours of twilight slowly faded from the sky.
This image is one of the hundreds I took that evening, selected from early on in the shoot as the sun was just kissing the ocean before disappearing for another day.
