For most of our two week stay on the Mediterranean island of Crete my wife Liz and I found it too hot to do any serious walking, even in September when it was supposed to have cooled down a bit.
But we did enjoy a few strolls by the sea, such as here at Elounda on the northeast coast, where we followed the very nice promenade as it wound its way past little jetties and moorings populated by the pleasure boats of the locals and hire companies.
The scenery was delightful, and as we weren't in a hurry I took the opportunity to take quite a few photos of various moored boats, shining in the sun and set against the azure waters of the Mediterranean sea.
Mind you, we were ready for an ice cream by the time we'd finished our stroll!
