During our two week explore around the eastern half of the Mediterranean island of Crete in September 2017 my wife Liz and I made only one visit to most of the places we saw.
However, there were just a few locations that we made two or three visits to, as they were so lovely.
The seaside village of Mochlos, on the northeastern coast, was one such place.
A relatively undeveloped spot, right by the sea, with lovely views both around the seafront and out towards a small island just offshore, dotted with Minoan ruins.
Mochlos is built around a small bay and beach, but most of the foreshore is of lovely colourful and textured rocks, complete with tidal pools and just a few beachfront restaurants as pictured here.
A lovely, quiet place to stroll around just soaking in the beauty of the Mediterranean coast.
