I don't normally photograph girls on beaches, but this young lady in her rather chic red bathing costume, looking out to sea as if pondering whether to get wet or not, was just too visually stylish to resist.
My wife Liz and I were at the seaside resort of Vai on the east coast of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea, having spent most of the day driving vaguely eastwards from our base at Hersonissos, many kilometers to the west, checking out the beautiful scenery along the way.
We'd already enjoyed a paddle and were mooching along thinking of moving on when I caught this lovely little scene unfolding at the edge of the water.
A quick photo and we were on our way again, thinking about the long drive westwards but happy at having snapped a real 'feel good' photo.
It still makes me smile.
