Following a lovely day spent exploring and walking in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, my wife Liz and I decided to head west to watch the sunset from the coast.
Our plan was to head to the vast stretch of beach at Dinas Dinlle to catch the sun setting over the mountains of the Llyn Peninsula, but somewhere along the way our plans went awry and we ended up on the coast much further south than originally planned.
Heading north we arrived, much to our surprise, at the seaside town of Criccieth to the south of the Llyn Peninsula, just as the sun was heading down towards the horizon.
Never one to pass an opportunity by, even if it was unplanned, we parked up and headed out onto the harbour wall to catch the view back over the town and beach, bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.
We were just in time for me to take the series of overlapping frames required to create this panoramic collage before the sun sank into the Irish Sea and the light faded from the scene.
So we headed back to the car for the long journey home, this time with the satnav fired up!
