During our two week holiday in September 2019, spent touring around the beautiful countryside and coastlines of Devon and Cornwall, my wife Liz and I took a day to explore the magnificent Dartmoor National Park in South Devon.
Towards the end of our west to east traverse of the park we came to the charming little village of Widecombe in the Moor, nestled within the rolling Dartmoor landscape.
Widecombe in the Moor is just what you would expect a quaint english village to be, with a village green, a pub or two, a tearoom and, of course, an ancient parish church.
We decide to stop here for a half hour leg stretch before continuing on our journey, and I spent the time wandering around the church building and churchyard, picking out visually appealing arrangements to photograph.
This view features the whole church and some of the graveyard, and shows just how big that church tower is compared to the rest of the village.
