One of the reasons I love living in North Wales, within easy reach of the coast, is the fantastic variety of weather that comes our way.
On this occasion my wife Liz and I were taking advantage of a reasonably nice afternoon to take a stroll along the beach at Conwy Morfa, on the opposite side of the river Conwy from Llandudno and Deganwy.
I've always liked the view from this beach across the estuary, with Deganwy's Marine Drive backed by the ever impressive granite outcrop, site of a 6th century fort that was headquarters of the King of Gwynnedd.
Anyhow, all that history passed me by as I rushed to set up my camera for this stitched panoramic composition with the late afternoon sun shining from under a bank of storm clouds and spotlighting the white painted hotels along the front.
This is one of my favourite lighting conditions, but I doesn't happen very often so I kind of go into a photographic feeding frenzy when I find myself in the middle of such a light show as this.
A few minutes later the clouds had rolled away and we carried on with our stroll along the sand, with me delighting in what I had just seen and been able to capture on camera.
