During our two week holiday in September 2019, spent exploring the beautiful countryside and coastlines of Devon and Cornwall, my wife Liz and I took a day to explore the magnificent Dartmoor National Park in South Devon.
Heading eastwards from the market town of Tavistock onto Dartmoor proper we soon came to the small village of Postbridge.
As we were driving through Liz spotted a rather unusual structure in a field to the side of the road.
Intrigued, we turned around and parked up in a layby by the side of the road and got out to investigate.
And what was this mystery object?
It turned out to be this ancient stone clapper bridge, apparently the most photographed bridge in Dartmoor, and if Liz hadn't been on the ball we would have driven straight past!
It took a while to get this shot, as there were a lot of people like me, wandering around photographing this and the equally lovely old stone arch road bridge, and I had to bide my time till the coast was clear.
