The story behind this image

The Snowdonia National Park is a treasure trove of dramatic views and stunning scenery, with easy road access to some of the best spots for photography. (Unless you want to climb a mountain of course!)

My wife Liz and I were driving back home from our daughter's caravan at Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula, taking the scenic route along the A4212 as it runs between Trawsfynydd and Bala, with the high peaks of the Snowdon range to the north.

We stopped in a small layby to eat our picnic and, as usual for me, I had a mooch around admiring the scenery and looking for potential views that could express the peaceful rural ambiance of this part of Wales.

This decaying and irregular wood and wire fence caught my eye, and with a farm, mountains and clouds in the background it provided just what I was looking for.

Of course, having a rare nice sunny day to enjoy the views also helped!
