The few days Liz and I spend in Florence in the Autumn of 2013 passed by in a blur of art, architecture and scenery.
This city is literally awash with culture, and one of the most impressive examples of a lot of art crammed into a small area was the Pitti Palace on the south bank of the river Arno.
Home to several different themed art exhibitions, the buildings themselves are very impressive in their own right.
Wandering through the halls it's well worth looking up from time to time, as the ceilings have some serious frescoes painted on them, such as this example of an angel blowing a trumpet.
