It's quite a climb right to the top of the Boboli gardens, part of the Pitti Palace complex in Florence, Italy.
Liz and I made the trek in order to view the Porcelain museum. Interesting for her but not so much for me, so while Liz was 'ooing' and 'aahing' over antique tupperware I was outside checking out photographing opportunities.
Each to his or her own!
Anyhow, right outside the museum was this little garden, with neatly laid out borders and flower beds, surrounded by a beautifully decaying wall, painted in the typical Tuscan colour of light cream.
The wall in itself was nice enough, but hardly an interesting subject for a photo. However, as is typical in this part of the world, someone long ago had decided to plant a strategically placed tree which had by now grown into a wonderful twisted piece of visual art.
Well worthy of a photo, and typical of the rustic blend of nature and acrhitecture so prevalent here in Tuscany.
