During our week long stay on the Seychelle island of Gran Canaria, Liz and I mostly avoided the heavily developed areas on the south and east coasts, prefering instead to explore the relativey undeveloped interior and west coast.
However, we did spend a few hours one day promenading in the sunshine on the coastal path that runs between the two resorts of Amadores and Puerto Rico on the south coast.
It was quite a pleasant stroll, especially when stopped for a fresh fruit smoothie in a handy bar.
Although I took a few photos of the big, white hotels and apartments as we walked along, these photos were just snapshots to show folk back home what it was like.
Looking for something a bit less touristy to photograph, I noticed a few vibrant patches of cactus on the rocks above where we were walking.
So with a bit of careful framing I was able to create this image, excluding anything resembling the hand of man and just focusing attention on the cactus patch.
Looking at the final composition, you would have no clue that I was surrounded by tourists, hotels and crowded beaches at the time I took the photo.
