During our week long winter break on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands my wife Liz and I spent most of our time off the beaten tourist tracks, exploring the less developed and more natural north coast.
One of our favourite spots on this part of the island is Puerto de Las Nieves, a charming seaside town with just a smattering of tourists to be seen amongst the locals.
As dusk fell over the Atlantic ocean and the lights of the promenade came on I took the opportunity for one last photo, showing the beautiful colours of twilight balanced with the warm glow of the streetlights, before heading back to our car for the long drive back to our resort on the south coast.
well worth staying out late to see such wonderful light.
