As my wife Liz and I visit various parts of the beautiful North Wales coast, we're always on the lookout for interesting scenery to photograph (me) or paint (Liz).
When we first visited the beach at Llandulas we were quite uninspired by the messy sand and jumble of rocks put there as a breakwater.
However, once the sun had set and the tide had come in the scene was transformed. The sea covered over the messy beach, leaving just the weatherbeaten and broken groynes sticking out of the water while the sky developed into a tapestry of wispy clouds.
What a difference a couple of hours made! It just goes to show it's worth waiting and letting the essence of a place speak to you over time, rather than rushing in, taking a photo, and rushing away again.
