A summer sunrise on the East Shore at Llandudno on the North Wales coast can be a wonderful experience.
Alternatively it can be a grey dull and damp one - but not on this occasion, with clear skies to the horizon and nothing to impede the glorious golden rays before they hit the quaint Victorian seafront buildings that line the prom.
For a few minutes, just as the sun breaks the horizon, the building facades glow with liquid light which is reflected in the wet sand of a beach swept clean by the receding tide. A few minutes later and the sun has climbed in the sky, the colour temperature of the light has risen and the moment has passed.
Time to go home for a bite of breakfast and then off to the factory. Still, a dose of beautiful light first thing sets me up for the rest of the day.
