A visit to the East Shore and pier at the seaside resort of Llandudno on the North Wales coast is like travelling back in time, as the town has managed to retain much of its olde worlde charm and resisted the brash development of its coastal neighbours Rhyl and Prestatyn.
This photo is a typical touristy postcard type image showing the pier and the Grand Hotel (not quite so grand when you get close up to it), complete with cheeky seagull.
The seagull was very hard to photograph, as I had to get quite close with a wide angle lens to achieve the near-far composition I weas aiming for, and of course, the seagull kept flying off.
Eventually I got a photo with the dratted bird in the right place and managed to expose it without completely blowing out the white plumage.
So much for an easy snapshot, but worth the effort as without the seagull this photo would have been pretty boring.
