The North Cornish coast has so much character, both in terms of the raw beauty of the coastline itself, and in terms of man's efforts to build there.
I spotted this clifftop dwelling while enjoying a stroll around Port Isaac with my wife Liz and thought 'what an odd looking house, and what an unusual place to put it'.
But it's that quirky eccentricity that so sums up for me what this part of the country is like. It seems everything made by man's hand here is so individual and expressive.
Quite often I see buildings and houses in otherwise beautiful locations and think 'what a blot on the landscape'. Not here though, as most of the buildings I saw fitted in really well with the surrounding scenery, complimenting rather than detracting from the overall experience of being in this fantastic part of the country.
