The story behind this image

While staying at Lake Como in the Italian mountains for a couple of weeks' holiday, my wife Liz and I took the opportunity to have a look at the many towns that dotted the lake shore.

One of the largest and most popular with tourists was Bellagio, right at the centre of the lake.

This view was taken from the deck of the ferry which criss-crosses Lake Como all day, and features one of the classy wooden decked water taxis that the rich and famous use to get around.

Exposure - 1/60 sec @ f8, ISO400

Filters - Polarising filter used to remove glare and enhance colours.

Conversion - Adobe Lightroom

Comments - Handheld exposure with image stabilisation and high ISO to prevent camera movement blur.
