The story behind this image

A fortnight's holiday in the Italian Lakes gave my wife Liz and I plenty of opportunity to relax on the balcony of our apartment above the lakeside town of Varenna and just enjoy the views.

One of the things we liked to watch was the arrival and departure of the cross lake ferries, plying their trade between Varenna, Menaggio and Bellagio all day long, making for a great long lens photograph.

Filters - Polarising filter used to reduce glare and enhance colours.

Location - Varenna, Lake Como, Italy

Conversion - Adobe Lightroom

Comments - Tripod, mirror lockup and remote release used to prevent camera movement.
