In the autumn of 2018 my wife Liz and I spent a fantastic two weeks exploring the lakes and mountains of northern Italy.
Our apartment was situated above the charming town of Varenna, right on the shores of Lake Como, and although we spent a lot of time driving around the region, we also took time out to enjoy the local delights of Varenna itself.
This photo of a yacht moored just offshore was taken just a little way along the lake from Varenna, and shows the town, complete with impressive clock tower, nestled between the lake and mountains.
