In the autumn of 2018 my wife Liz and I spent an amazing two weeks exploring the lakes and mountains of northern Italy.
For the last few days of our holiday we decamped from Lake Como and headed east to Lake Garda, which proved to be quite different in terms of landscape and development than Lake Como.
A drive up the lovely roads right to the northern end of Lake Garda got us to the beautifully situated Riva del Garda, which proved to be a real gem of a place.
We ended up spending a whole afternoon here, just wandering around the waterfront and promenades looking at the scenery and architecture, and of course, taking the odd photo or fifty!
This little water feature on the promenade caught my eye, with a somewhat startled expression on its carved stone face.
