This is the promenade at West Kirby, photographed at dusk from the side of the marine lake.
I've found West Kirby to be a great place for viewing and photographing sunsets, as it's west facing and no matter what the tide is doing, there's always water in the lake to hold a reflection.
This was a particularly beautiful evening, with the sun having set over a clear horizon and the blue light of the twilight sky reflecting off the water.
This time of day is great for showing up variations in the colour temperature of light, with the blue sky and water complimenting and contrasting with the orange glow of the steetlights and buildings.
The effect only lasts around 15 minutes or so, after which the sky is too dark to see the colour, but I'm always entranced by the way the light changes at this time of the day.
It's a priviledge and blessing to be able to see it unfold in front of me.
