This is one of those rare images in which everything came together without any forethought or planning. This photo was taken on the first occasion that my wife Liz and I had visited this spot on the Anglesey side of the Menai Straights in North Wales. We've been back a few times since, but never in such fantastic conditions.
The sheer beauty of the snow on the mountains gleaming in the sunlight, together with the blue waters of the straights and the yellow of the sand bank, took our breath away.
The cheeky seagull, sitting on the end of the disused pier, was the finishing touch to an entrancing scene.
