Phillipsburg, the capital of the island of St Martin in the Carribean, is a visual delight. There's such a fantastic range of colours on display and the place is so warm and friendly.
This image was taken around midday (it was HOT!) on the jetty looking out over the bay to the headland beyond. Photographing at midday is not usually recommended for landscape photography, as the harsh overhead light tends to flatten texture and kill mood. However, in cases like this where colour is the primary focus of the image, midday lighting combined with a polarising filter can really emphasise and saturate those colours, making the image come alive.Filename - jetty sea 01.jpg
