My wife Liz and I often visit Llandudno on the North Wales coast for a stroll along the beach to take the sea air and blow the cobwebs away.
However, on this particular occasion we stayed firmly put in the car as the weather was awful, with rain and howling freezing wind whipping up the normally calm seas.
What was definitely unappealing to us was a wonderland for the extreme sport kite surfers, who were out in force and bombing along at fantastic speeds over the whitecaps.
The surfer in this photo was better than most, and managed to stay upright for several seconds while I photographed him with a 400mm lens from the shelter of the car park!
