During our two week stay touring around the lakes of northern Italy my wife Liz and I made a complete circuit of Lake Como in our little Fiat Panda hire car, stopping off at the charming lakeside towns for a looksee and the occasional cappuccino.
With high mountains all around, Lake Como attracted quite a lot of cloudy weather while we were there, but we did have the odd day or two of blazing sunshine.
We stopped in the small town of Dervio on a bright, sunny morning and enjoyed a warm promenade along the lakeshore, taking in the typical small harbour filled with pleasure boats that are such a common feature in this part of the world.
