A three day weekend in late autumn found my wife Liz and I driving around the Lake District in Northern England, checking out some of the many beauty spots in this part of the world.
As usual, the Ordinance Survey was our friend and guide in this endeavour, and with Liz acting as a human satnav (left - no right - no straight on!) we found some lovely places to stop and take in the views.
One of the lesser known places that we found, thanks to our map, was Crummock Water.
Arriving just around sunset, I spent an hour or so taking hundreds of still frames to make my Crummock Water Timelapse 1 video, until virtually all the visible light had gone, and I was relying on the low light capability of my good old Canon 6D to record details I couldn't see.
Finishing up the time lapse shoot I just couldn't tear myself away without one last frame, this time using a long 30 second exposure to add a beautiful blur to the clouds and water, lit by the steely blue light of astronomical twilight.

Filters - 3 stop neutral density graduated filter used to balance the exposure between sky and foreground.
