Towards the end of July 2020 my wife Liz and I treated ourselves to a long weekend spent exploring the beautiful scenery around the Lake District in the north of England.
On our first day we decided to head north to have a look at the views around Wastwater, reputed to be amongst the best in Britain.
But I'm amazed we got that far (we did in the end!), as the drive up took us through some pretty jaw dropping landscapes.
Such as this panoramic view out over Eskdale looking west, with a combination of a rural idyll in the foreground, fields, drystone walls and so on, backed by the high peak of Scafell Pike and its surrounding mountains in the not so far distance.
It seemed that every layby we drove past had a fresh view on offer, so of course I had to stop and photograph them all!
