On the first day of the long weekend that my wife Liz and I enjoyed in the Lake District at the end of July 2020 we took a drive north, aiming for Wastwater, a small lake we'd never seen before.
On the way we passed through some beautiful landscape scenery, taking our time with many stops to admire and photograph the views on this lovely summer's day.
One such stop was near the small village of Gawthwaite, looking out over rolling countryside to the high peaks far to the north.
So I made the most of the views and great clouds to take a series of images, including this photo of this typically rural Lake District scene, with drystone walls crisscrossing the landscape.
