On the first day of the long weekend that my wife Liz and I enjoyed in the Lake District at the end of July 2020 we took a drive north, aiming for Wastwater, a small lake we'd never seen before.
On the way we passed through some beautiful landscape scenery, taking our time with many stops to admire and photograph the views on this lovely summer's day.
One such stop was in the small village of Ulpha, where the tiny and very old parish church caught my eye as we drove by.
So a fifteen minutes' stop was definitely in order, as we wandered around the building and churchyard, taking in the peaceful ambiance while discretely capturing a few images to remember this visual jewel by.
